FONDALI notturni |
|
Original Title: FONDALI
NOTTURNI
Directed by: Nino Russo
Actors: Massimo Ranieri, Ida Di Benedetto, Vittorio Viviani, Pietra
Montecorvino, Sergio Solli
Runtime: 1h49
Country: Italy2002
Genre: comedie
Story: Cala
by night in the Gulf of the partenopean city. In a little
place completely deserted a woman Vincenza, owner of
a news-stall and Peppino, seller of smuggling cigarettes,
are waiting for their clients. They will wait in vain
because nobody will come. The night goes between quarrels
and unexpected reconciliations and considerations about
a lively past and a present made of miserable lonelyness.
Critic: The unity of time and place is fragmented
by the classical repertoire, by those distant presences
full of a nostalgy and a culture eroded by years. The
little place becomes thus a broadning of the memory
where cinema and theater go hand in hand.

AITANIC |
|
Original Title: Aitanic
Directed by: Nino D'Angelo
Actors: Mauro Di Francesco, Giacomo Rizzo, Sabina Began, Nino D'Angelo, Pietra
Montecorvino
Runtime: 92 minutes
Country: Italy
2000
Genre: Comedie
Story: While a strike, in Naples,
the familly of Gaetano called Aitano stole a ferry
and organize a service of substitution. On the boat
mingle the destinies of different characters: a jobless
whose ex-wife wants to take back the son; a milanese
who sells expired panettones; a new-wave singer with
fans and company.
Critic: The film doesn't
deny anything of the past and is on the contrary
a kind of critical remake of the old films of Mariano
Laurenti (that we can see in a flashback half cinematografical
rather intelligent). The less convincing parts are
rather those where is evident the model of "Tano
da morire": the ridiculous choregraphies, some
musics like "Terroni dance". The references
are yet numerous, and not at all strange: from "Forrest
Gump" to "Don Camillo", from "Pretty
woman" to "Ladri di biciclette"; so
much that the title is reducing and disappointing.
The film is not a parody, even if at ten minutes
before the end, comes a guy with illegal videos of "Aitanic
2". It's, in its own way, a serious work, with
evident falls of rhythm (stop in extremis of the
montage of Giogiò Franchini) but several irresistible
moments too, and, in spite of the ingenuous nature,
one of the most "postmodern" films even
done in Italy.

CAVALLI
SI NASCE |
|
Original title: Cavalli
si nasce
Directed by: Sergio Staino
Actors: Paolo Hendel, David Riondino, Pietra Montecorvino
Runtime: 104 minutes
Country: Italy
1989
Genre: Comedie
Story: We are in 1832. the young
marquis travels accross Italy with his friend Paolo.
The two friends end by an old prince. Loves and intrigues
follow one another. Paolo is killed and after him the
groom Alfonso, man with jacobin ideas. The Bourbons bring
back peace. As in a tale, Ottavio goes with his two dead
friends to the city of Filadelfia.
Critic: First cinematographic steps of Sergio
Staino. Beautiful ambiance of the 18th for an allegoric
story, in which satire and fantastic spirits go hand
in hand. A bit fragmented the narration, intermittently
here and there by brusque transitions or by delays
too much wordy.

CIOE'... CHE MI HAI PORTATO A FARE... |
|
Original title: F.F.S.S.,
cioè... che mi hai portato a fare sopra Posillipo
se non mi vuoi più bene?
Directed by: Renzo Arbore
Actors: Luciano De Crescenzo, Roberto Benigni, Pietra Montecorvino,
Renzo Arbore
Runtime: 98 minutes
country: Italy 1983
Genre: Comedie
Story: Two aspirant directors
get back accidentally pages that have flown away by the
window of Fellini's house, containing notes for his new
film: "Federico Fellini Sud Story". The story
is about a neapolitan girl, keeper of the public baths,
who dreams to be a star of the music thanks to his ignorant
and clumsy manager. For the final apotheosis the girl
is at Sanremo and sings "Nuie simmo d'o Sud".
Critic: Arbore is not
and will never be a great director, but this epic of
the "ugly" Pietra Montecorvino, agrees with
him. to say nothing of the apparition of Benigni in
the role of the check Beige: absolutly hilarious.

Pizza
Story is a musical recital, a concert show by Eugenio and
Edoardo Bennato. For the first time together, the two musicians,
together with Pietra Montecorvino and accompanied by an
orchestra of 22 elements, will introduce to the city passages
of their historical repertoire and the original music composed
together for the film Totò Sapore. |
|
The
cartoon that understands a big number of songs and chorals
of great spectacular impact has hocked in the composition
and realization of the soundtracks the two great musicians
that are the Neapolitan brothers, Edoardo and Eugenio Bennato. |
|
The matter
of the film is particularly stimulating because it contains
among the other three winning and international elements
of the culture: Naples, the XVIIIth and the pizza. And
it is so that idea was born to introduce those melodies
to the public in an entitled concert "Pizza
Story" the
5th - 6th January in Naples at the theater Politeama. The
film, entirely inspired to the partenopean city, produced
and distributed by the Medusa Film, lists among the various
interpreters, or for better saying dubbers, being a cartoon, Pietra
Montecorvino (Vesuvia) Francesco Paolantoni (in
the cloths of four different pots), Lello Arena (in the
character of Pulcinella), inspired by the famous sketch
of Lele Luzzati, Mario Merola (Vincenzone), Rosalia Porcaro
(queen of Naples), Marco Vivio (Toto' Sapore) |
